Cafer Dede - Latest update

UPDATE 2.12.11

The LOF was terminated at 1530 hours local time on 1st December 2011. The vessel removed to Izmir and is discharging the remaining containers, due to complete late on 2.12.11, after which she will move to Tuzla for repair.

All cargo will be transhipped but not until both Salvage and General Average security has been lodged. See below.

Salvage security demand has been set at 27% and General Average 5%.

WORKING ARRANGEMENTS FOR CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR 2011 - 2012

1. CHRISTMAS

Shipping:

Shipping operations will cease at 19:00 hours Saturday 24th December and re-commence at 07:00 hours Tuesday 27th December. During this period there will be no voluntary labor availability.
Note: Tuesday 27th December will be worked as a normal shift.

Park:

In–Gates closed from 14:00 hours Saturday 24th December and re-open 23:00 hours Tuesday 27th December.

2. NEW YEAR

Shipping:

Shipping operations will cease at 19:00 hours Saturday 31st December and re-commence at 07:00 hours Monday 2nd January. Subject to voluntary labor from 19:00 hours Sunday 1st January to 07:00 hours Monday 2nd January.

Park:

In-Gates closed from 14:00 hours Saturday 31st December and re-open 23:00 hours Monday 2nd January.

UPDATE 29.11.11

LOF has not yet been terminated. The vessel remains at Syros Island under the care of Salvors, awaiting local authority permission to depart for Izmir.

We would stress that no container will be transhipped until Blue Seas Adjusters are in possession of full security documentation and in this respect, if you have cargo on board, please contact them (details below) by email advising:-

a). Bill of lading number;
b). Container number(s) and
c). Detail of insurers (if cargo insured)
and they shall respond accordingly.

Closed 14:30 hours Saturday 27th August.

Note: There will be a limited gate service during the period from 23:00 hours Monday 29th August until 07:00 hours Tuesday 30th August. Please be aware during this period our Customer Service Centre will be closed and therefore responsibility for the existence and accuracy of VBS bookings will remain with the haulier concerned.

Normal operations resume at 07:00hours Tuesday 30th August.

Please be advised that the Port of Felixstowe gates opening hours over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend are as follows:

Saturday 28th May.
Gates close at 14:30 hours

Sunday 29th May
Gates re-open at 23:00 *
Gates close at 06:30 (Monday 30th May)

*Note: This will be a limited gate service during the period from 23:00 hours Sunday to 06:30 hours Monday. Please be aware during this time our Customer Service Centre will be closed and therefore responsibility for the existence and accuracy of VBS bookings (including pre-entry details) will remain with the haulier concerned.

Fuel surcharge increase - 01.01.2011

Turkon Line wish to announce that from the 1st January 2011 our fuel surcharge on UK haulage will increase from 5% to 6%.

This will be reviiewed on a regular basis and adjusted where appropriate.

New vessel added to North European Service - January 2011

Turkon Line is pleased to announce an additional vessel will be added to it’s North European Service in January 2011

This will return our North European / Med / Turkish service to weekly, operating with 4 purpose built vessels of 1850 TEU’s each.

Please note, our Turkish offices will be closed due to National Holidays (Feast of the Sacrifice) as follows:

Turkish National Holiday - Republic Day

National Holiday - Republic Day

Please note, all our Turkish offices will be closed from 1300 hrs (Turkish time) on the 28th October and will re-open on the 1st November.

Marseille call suspended

Turkon Line have made the difficult decision to suspend it's service to/from Marseille
due to the upcoming gantry crane drivers strike and also the general strikes recently announced in France.

Once this situation is resolved and the port returns to some form of normaility we will re-instate our service.

Please note all Turkon Line's offices in Turkey will be closed from the following dates due to the Ramadan Bayram Festival:

Congratulations to our colleague Tim Havard and his wife Vikki for the arrival of baby Freya on the 29th June 2009.

Both mother and child are doing well.

Who is next you might ask ? We seem to be producing babies at will in our office !

New Vessel

We are pleased to annouce the maiden call of our new vessel the Kaptan Ergun at Felixstowe on the 20th June 2009.

This vessel replaces the Sena Kalkavan which has been moved to another of our trade routes.
